Water P&L
July water usage is up 20%from the prior year. For further breakdown:
• Residential use up 38%
• Commercial use up 8%
Water Operating Revenues for July of$310,273 are up from last year by 23%and better
than YTD budget by 25%.
Other Revenues of$49,000 are down from the prior year 22%,with the Connection Fees
being the driving force.
Overall, Total Revenues of$359,608 are ahead of the prior year by 14% and ahead of
YTD budget by 40%.
Expenses are under the prior year by less than 1%and under YTD budget by 2%. The
various expense items are consistent with the prior year.
For July 2016,the Water Department has a Net Profit of$151,884,which is over last
year's profit of$107,538. YTD Net Profit is $51,484, which is ahead of the prior YTD
Net Loss of($193,813), and significantly above the budgeted YTD Net Loss of
($419,576). Water typically has profits this time of year, and that continues through the
summer months, allowing mitigation of accumulated losses. The last quarter of the year
water typically has losses that accumulate once again. With the strong connection fees
this year, however,we are still predicting to end the year better than budget.
36
