Finally, Corrections Officers maintain a strict inventory of inmate's clothing and other items that are issued to <br />them. When items are issued, inmates exchange their items, one for one, meaning one pair of socks for one <br />pair of socks as an example. They should never have extra unaccounted for items issued to them - not to say it <br />never happens, but it shouldn't. This is managed by staff and directed by jail policy. <br />In summary, several measures have been put in place to stop the introduction of undesirable items entering the <br />sanitary sewer system. Therefore, the County doesn't plan on doing any sanitary sewer modifications. <br />5. Additional detailing of driveway access to the south will be needed should that alternative be selected. <br />Response: An enlarged plan will be added to 234.CG showing that access connection to Mississippi Road NW. <br />Stormwater <br />1. A MIDS report is needed. <br />Response. A MIDS report has been completed and will be provided to city staff the week of July 18. <br />2. Note that the project is within one mile of an impaired water, Lake Orono and within one mile of a special water, <br />Mississippi River. <br />Response: This information will be included in the SWPPP document once that is prepared after the Contractor is <br />selected and prior to work commencing. <br />3. A detailed maintenance schedule is needed for each of the permanent BMPs and who will be responsible. <br />Response. A draft maintenance document will be provided for City review prior to the start of construction. Once <br />approved the County will assume responsibility. <br />4. Add all required NPDES SWPP details. An issued NPDES permit is required before the project can start land <br />disturbing activity. <br />Response: Once selected, the Contractor will apply for the MPCA General Permit. The Civil Engineer will prepare the <br />SWPPP and include all required details and information. <br />5. Add required detail for the temporary sedimentation basin. <br />Response. Additional temporary sedimentation basin information will be on 235.CE. The Contractor will be <br />responsible for amending that basin, or any SWPPP BMP, if the site requires. <br />Building Materials <br />1. The building materials meet the requirements of Section 30-1294. <br />Response: No action required. <br />Environmental <br />1. Environmental staff suggests working with the Elk River Municipal Utilities and city staff to incorporate energy <br />efficient and sustainable design. <br />Response: The County and the design and construction teams are committed to sustainability. Conversations are <br />underway with Elk River Municipal Utilities and the project plans to participate in the Sherburne County landfill <br />abatement legacy grant <br />Landscaping <br />1. Provide a detailed landscape plan indicating the types and quantities of plantings. <br />Response.
