RIVER
FIRE
Memorandum
REscuE
aRE DEPARTMENS POLICE
To: Zachary Carlton, Planning Manager
From: Elk River Public Safety
Date: August 11, 2016
Subject: Road Development around Twin Lakes
Thank you for the opportunity to give input in regards to the proposed road development to
connect the River Park Subdivision with the Twin Lakes Estates Subdivision. As you know,we are
dedicated to public safety from both law enforcement and fire service perspectives. Having only one
access point for this large of a development,as well as future developments,is not practical or
beneficial to the public that live in these areas or for emergency response to the area.
We all agree that public safety would be improved by connecting the subdivision from multiple
directions rather than just one side. Having only one access point could potentially delay response
times or could interfere with emergency operations.
Our recommendation is that Ivanhoe be connected to Twin Lakes Parkway, allowing further access
to the area for everyone.
