This consistency is important because it indicates a population that can <br />afford to spend money on recreation facilities and programs. <br /> <br />Further Narrative on Housing: <br /> <br />The total number of housing units in the City of Elk River, according to the 2010 Census, is <br />8,542 and 94.6% of those are occupied, or 8,080 housing units. Of the available units the bulk is <br />for rent, 2.3%. <br /> <br />The total number of housing units in the Secondary, according to the 2010 Census, is 74,581 and <br />95.7% of those are occupied, or 71,277 housing units.
