of several interconnected loops aptly named <br />and marked with signage on all the trails. The <br />Great Northern Trail is part of the groomed ski <br />trail system offered in the park. All of the trails <br />throughout the park are well marked by directional <br />signs built by Eagle Scouts and maintained by the <br />city. Be sure to check out the Top -of -the -World <br />location which is located at the park's highest <br />point. The park also has a biathlon range used <br />each winter for biathlon events. The range is a <br />10 -minute walk from the main parking lot. <br />EXISTING TRAILS <br />Woodland Trails Park is primarily a trails based <br />recreation park. Today there are several miles <br />of mowed paths through prairie and woodland <br />settings and paved trails in the park. In the winter, <br />many of these trails are groomed for cross <br />country skiing, but winter walking is also popular. <br />Figures 3 and 4 display the layout of existing <br />summer and winter trails in the park. <br />10 WOODLAND TRAILS PARK MASTER PI_AI"!
