Background/Discussion Case No. CU 16-13 The applicant is requesting an amendment to the current Elk Park Center Planned Unit Development (PUD) agreement to allow standard wall signage according to Starbucks's brand. The applicant is proposing to update the PUD agreement to allow multi -tenant buildings facing an arterial road to increase their wall signage to 15% of the facade area. The proposed sign area is consistent with recent changes to the sign code for properties along Highway 169, but preserves the sign area limits for buildings away from the highway. Staff proposes the updated sign language to read as shown below: f. Wall Signs (Multi Tenant Building) 4. No signage shall be permitted on the sides or rear of the building, other than that required for delivery identification or traffic control. For sides of buildings facing an arterial road, one sigft not exceeding 20 square feet shall be allowed, the total wall sign area shall not exceed 15 percent of facade area. Businesses in multi - tenant facilities shall be allowed their proportionate share of permitted wall sign area. 5.
