Participates in safety training. <br /> <br />Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities <br />D Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as defined by GASB. <br />o Knowledge of governmental accounting procedures as defined by the GFOA. <br />o Knowledge of City operations, ordinances and practices related to finance, budgeting and <br />accounting. <br />D Knowledge of laws, practices and regulations applicable to City government finances. <br />D Knowledge of investment options and banking activities. <br />D Knowledge of computerized accounting systems and the ability to instruct departmental <br />staff in the use of the software. <br />D Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and database software and the ability to train <br />Department staff in their use. <br />D Working knowledge and understanding of the application of Minnesota Real Estate tax laws <br />and other tax laws regarding municipal finance. <br />D Knowledge of information technology. <br />D Knowledge of election, data practices, records and other city clerk functions. <br />D Demonstrated knowledge of employment law. <br />D Ability to prepare and administer an annual budget. <br />D Ability to supervise a complex set of department functions. <br />D Ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines. <br />o Ability to plan, coordinate, direct, and review financial and related work activities. <br />D Ability to analyze and interpret financial information and accurately prepare financial <br />statements and reports. <br />o Demonstrated leadership abilities. <br />D Ability to make decisions and respond to situations that arise. <br />D Ability to effectively interact with other supervisors, employees, and City Council. <br />D Ability to lead and motivate employees. <br />D Ability to analyze technical and statistical information and to prepare and present technical <br />oral and written reports. <br />D Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. <br /> <br />Minimum Qualifications <br />D Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or public administration with an <br />emphasis in accounting and public finance. <br />D Five years of experience at a supervisory level in government including experience in <br />accounting/ finance, human resources, information technology, and administration. <br />D Five years of supervisory experience. <br /> <br />Preferred Qualifications <br />D Master's degree in accounting, business administration, or public administration with an <br />emphasis in accounting and public finance. <br /> <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Finance Admin Services Director <br />
