Park Improvement Fund <br /> III <br /> Mr. Benoit presented his staff report. <br /> Commissioner Anderson discussed the proposed staff changes and all <br /> commissioners agreed that they do not support putting$25,000 towards one park • <br /> entrance sign. Hard to recommend it in good faith without seeing what the signage <br /> will be and cost. <br /> Commissioner Kallemeyn recommended leaving the$25,000 not allocated to any <br /> particular item to be able to use on other projects. <br /> Commissioner Anderson wants the council to know the commission is disappointed <br /> that they haven't seen any concept designs of the wayfinding plan. <br /> Council member Wagner shared that she believes in consistent branding. Cautioned <br /> the commission in changing the amount as Hillside City Park is a Signature Park in <br /> the Master Park Plan. <br /> Commissioner Anderson suggested leaving it in there for the community not just <br /> one park. <br /> Commission members agreed they would like to have more information regarding <br /> the Trott Brook Park addition of$14,000. <br /> III <br /> Commissioner Anderson said that the associations need to share their list of needs, <br /> with a cost and then put into budget. <br /> Mr.Benoit will work with associations in planning based on the newly allocated <br /> $80,000. <br /> Greg from Baseball Association shared that they have spent countless hours with <br /> local contractors to come up with a plan. Appreciate the money being allocated. <br /> Hanson Bros. has gotten the bid down to$59,000 for four dugouts and would like to <br /> ask the commission to move forward with the project this year. If concrete can be <br /> poured now the dugouts can be built over the winter and be ready for the spring <br /> season. <br /> Commissioner Anderson stated that this would have to be approved by City Council <br /> and that the Parks and Recreation Commission do not have final say. The <br /> Commission recommends $180,000 on athletic field improvements that way <br /> associations and staff can work together on prioritizing the list of needs. <br /> Commissioner Anderson wants to balance the approach to the use of the money so <br /> all associations would benefit from the money allotted. <br /> _ • <br /> ielltaE II <br /> n: <br />
