<br /> <br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council 4.16 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br /> <br />ConsentMay 16, 2016Justin Femrite, City Engineer <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br /> <br />Approve Petition Waiver and Agreement for Sewer Amanda Othoudt, ED Director <br />and Water Connection <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br /> <br />Approve, by motion, the attached Petition, Waiver and Agreement <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />Council is asked to consider the approval of the attached Petition, Waiver and Agreement submitted by <br />the owners of Die-Concepts. <br /> <br />The petition includes a request to have the Sewer Access Charge (SAC) and Water Access Charge (WAC) <br />associated with the connections of the building at 18498 Twin Lakes Road, assessed over a term of three <br />years. <br /> <br />Staff began discussions with the applicant about the opportunity to have these costs assessed in the fall of <br />2015. Since that time, the applicant has been working on environmental reviews and planning for their <br />improvements to the property which includes connections to the public systems. Since the applicant was <br />not the fee owner of the property until April 27, 2016, they could not complete the application before the <br />original program sunset on December 31, 2015. <br /> <br />Staff feels it in within the spirit of the original program to approve the Petition, Waiver, and Agreement <br />as submitted to allow for the assessment of these costs. The applicant will be paying their contractor’s <br />costs for physically making the connection so that is not included in their request. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br /> <br />There are no costs associated with this action.
