City Council Minutes <br />April 18, 2016 <br />Page 4 <br />Chief Cunningham recognized Mr. Simon for his work with the Fire Relief <br />Association. He thanked Tim for his assistance throughout the years and presented a <br />plaque on behalf of the association. <br />Mayor Dietz stated people don't realize the work Tim put into his job as finance <br />director. He did a tremendous job at giving Council advice. He stated Tim is a very <br />nice person and great with citizen. He stated he would like to convince him to stay <br />but Tim is expanding his career and will be leaving big shoes to fill. <br />Councilmember Westgaard agreed and stated it was a pleasure to work with Tim and <br />he will be missed. <br />Councilmember Burandt stated Tim can explain money issues in an easy to <br />understand manner for everyone and she wished him well. <br />Councilmember Wagner stated she doesn't know how she could've gotten through <br />her fust year as Councilmember without Tim. She commented on his integrity and <br />wished him the best. <br />Councilmember Olsen stated Tim was a great help in helping him to learn about city <br />finances and was very helpful with resident's questions. <br />Mr. Simon stated he is surprised and felt Elk River is a great place to work. He stated <br />the Finance Department is in great shape, it has been fun working here, and he <br />further thanked all the staff. <br />6.4 Introduction of New Employee: Planner BrieAnna Simon <br />Mr. Carlton introduced Brie -Anna to the Council. He discussed her background and <br />what her current work would entail. <br />Ms. Simon thanked Council for the opportunity to work at the city. <br />Council welcomed Ms. Simon. <br />7.1. Kristin Pearo, 14239 190" Avenue, Conditional Use Permit for Private <br />Kennel <br />Mr. Leeseberg presented the staff report. <br />Mayor Dietz opened the public hearing. There being no one to speak to this issue, <br />Mayor Dietz closed the public hearing. <br />Moved by Councilmember Westgaard and seconded by Councilmember <br />Burandt to approve Conditional Use Permit, Case No. CU 16-08 for a private <br />kennel with the following conditions: <br />P 0 V I R t I 11 <br />NAYURE <br />
