The canvass may only be held on the second day after a primary if the county
auditor agrees to review primary voting statistics within a time that permits the canvass to be conducted
on that day. Past
practice has been to hold the meeting at 8:00 a.m.
General Election Canvassing Board Meeting
Per state law, the Council must canvass and declare city election results 3-10 days after the general
election. There is no regular Council meeting scheduled for this timeframe. Past practice has been to
canvass the results the Friday after the election;however, this year city offices are closed in observance of
Veteran's Day.
