ELK RIVER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br /> 411 DATE: JUNE 9, 1993 <br /> TO: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br /> SUBJECT: PROSPECT STATUS REPORT <br /> The following is a summary of new industrial and commercial <br /> prospects that have expressed an interest in locating in the <br /> City of Elk River since the last EDA meeting. <br /> 1. James Stoudt Montrose, MN <br /> Staff was in contact with this Montrose resident who seeks <br /> existing industrial space for a contract assembly and <br /> light manufacturing operation. Mr. Stoudt seeks <br /> approximately 2,000 square feet of available space for <br /> this endeavor. Information on available sites and <br /> financing programs were sent to him. <br /> 2 . DTED Prospect <br /> Staff was in contact with a DTED representative regarding <br /> a telemarketing prospect that seeks 6,000 square feet of <br /> • available office space for a second Minnesota location. <br /> The telemarketing company is currently located in greater <br /> Minnesota, but seeks a second location within closer <br /> proximity to the Twin Cities . Information on Elk River <br /> locations was sent to DTED and it is hoped that the Elk <br /> River proposal will survive when the list of candidate <br /> cities is reduced. <br /> 3 . North Star Specialties <br /> This is a southeast Minneapolis sheet metal and metal <br /> stamping company that seeks to construct a new 25,000 <br /> square foot facility. The company employs approximately <br /> 30-35 people. The company's inquiry on Elk River was made <br /> well in advance of a relocation date. That is, the <br /> company will likely make a decision within one half of a <br /> year and final relocation will occur approximately nine to <br /> ten months from now. Staff sent the inquiry information <br /> on Elk River as well as information on available sites and <br /> financing programs. It is hoped that a meeting can be <br /> arranged with this company to further ascertain <br /> information on its relocation program. <br /> 4 . Office Inquiry <br /> Staff received an inquiry from an area resident seeking <br /> 0 executive office space for a company that designs and <br /> installs computer network systems . Information on <br /> available office space was provided to the prospect. <br /> P.O.
