Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Mike O'Neill—Technical Services Superintendent <br /> John Dietz—Chair <br /> Al Nadeau—Vice-Chair <br /> Daryl Thompson- Trustee <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> March 15th, 2016 6.1 d <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • The Locating department had a total of 94 locate tickets in February; seven of them being <br /> emergency tickets, one cancellation, one meeting, 82 normal tickets and one updated ticket. <br /> • In February, the Security Systems Department had a total of 63 phone contacts, four systems <br /> quoted, four system sales made, five installs completed, 29 service calls and six personal <br /> visits. <br /> • Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading,power bill, substation checks, hanging <br /> red-tags, meter read-outs, dealing with meter and off-peak issues, as well as delivering and <br /> installing new meters to commercial customers. They continue to change out the three phase <br /> meters with meters that will be read by radio ERT. Meter change outs in Area la and lb are <br /> nearly complete and we've now turned our efforts to effective auditing of areas acquired <br /> from Connexus. <br /> • The power plant staff did the monthly engine run on February 17th. All engines ran well <br /> with no problems. <br /> • Mapping department is working on getting new map books completed and getting map <br /> updated to include all of the area from 1a and lb. A new system wide feeder wall map was <br /> created and placed in Mark Fuchs and Mike O'Neill's area. <br /> • I attended the Upper Midwest Meter Association winter conference in February. The <br /> conference consisted of many different informative topics ranging from the meters that the <br /> Municipals and Cooperatives are using to the different Automated Meter Information <br /> platforms. There were also presentations from telecom companies on how their systems will <br /> allow the users to integrate the metering data into their systems. There was much discussion <br /> on everyone's uses of different types of Meter Data Management(MDM)platforms as well; <br /> opinions varied based on usage and expectations.
