Box 490 Elk River, MN 55330-1743 Dear Mr. Gongoll: As you may have already learned, I will soon be leaving Central Minnesota Development Company (CMDC) to accept the position of Executive Director of St. Paul/Metro East Development Corporation — a non-profit organization which helps small businesses obtain SBA loans in Ramsey, Washington and Dakota Counties. I want to assure you that assistance to CMDC's small business clients will continue without interruption after I leave. During the brief transition period during which the • CMDC Board of Directors will be interviewing and hiring a new Administrator, Bridgewater Financial Group — an economic development consulting firm with whom CMDC has enjoyed a long-standing working relationship — has been retained to manage the day-to-day affairs of this company. Debby Gustafson and Melissa Anderson will be available on a daily basis to answer questions pertaining to new or existing SBA loans. They will maintain a physical presence in this office and will continue to meet with prospective clients to help structure loans, and will package/present those loans to the CMDC Board at no cost to the small business borrower. I also want to assure you that the CMDC Board remains committed to the idea of asking for an expansion of its service territory to include Sherburne and Isanti Counties. As soon as a new Administrator is hired —hopefully within the next 45-60 days, the request to expand will continue. The CMDC Board plans to host a two-day strategic planning session which they hope you will be interested in attending. This workshop is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, September 30th and October 1st, 1994 at Madden's Resort and Conference Center in Brainerd (all food, lodging and golfing costs for you and a guest will be paid for by CMDC). •
