ITEM 7 . & 8.
• ELK RIVER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
MEMORANDUM
TO: Economic Development Authority
FROM: Executive Director, Pat Klaers
DATE: June 10, 1996
SUBJECT: TIF No. 15 Public Hearing and
Developer Contract
I made a mistake in the public hearing notice for this District. The public
hearing notice should have been published on May 29, 1996, but did not get
published until June 5, 1996. Prior to this public hearing notice getting in
the paper, the error was noticed and the public hearing date was changed to
June 17 in order to meet the ten day notice requirement. Accordingly, the
EDA public hearing cannot be held on June 10 and must be held on June 17,
1996.
• The attached background material on TIF No.15, the TIF application, and
the TIF Plan should be brought to the special June 17, 1996, EDA meeting.
The Contract between the EDA/city and McChesney Cabinets will be sent out
prior to the June 17, 1996, meeting. The public hearing and review of the
private developer contract is not expected to take a great deal of time and
four of the seven EDA members are anticipated to be at the June 17, 1996,
City Council meeting, so it is hoped that this special meeting will not be an
inconvenience for EDA members.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the EDA call a special meeting for 5:45 p.m. on
Monday, June 17, 1996,at the Elk River City Hall Council Chambers. The
purpose of this special meeting is to hold a public hearing to receive input on
TIF Plan No. 15, to consider TIF Plan No. 15 after receiving input, and to
consider the developer agreement between the city/EDA and McChesney
Cabinets associated with TIF No. 15.
eda\meetings\tif 15hrg
•
P.O.
