Discuss Economic Development Assistant Position <br /> Staff recently had a discussion with Jim Brimeyer, The Brimeyer <br /> Group, regarding scheduling an opportunity for him to appear before <br /> the EDA to provide an update on the activities associated with the <br /> Economic Development Strategic Plan. It is likely that he will be <br /> available to do this after completion of the department's 1998 Annual <br /> Report in approximately March or April 1999. <br /> Also discussed with Mr. Brimeyer was the possibility of having him <br /> provide some job search services for the economic development <br /> assistant to be hired in March or April 1999. City Administrator.Pat <br /> Klaers has been discussing using Mr. Brimeyer's services to help fill <br /> the position of city planner at approximately the same time next year. <br /> Mr. Brimeyer felt there would be some advantages in possibly <br /> increasing the potential field of candidates for both positions if they <br /> were advertised at the same time through his office. <br /> The scenario discussed was that for a small fee his office would be <br /> responsible for acting as a clearinghouse for the economic development <br />
