Renee Sandee, Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce Dr. David Flannery, School District No. 728 Jim Simpson, Bank of Elk River Daryl Thompson, EDA/Council Dear Committee: Thank you for volunteering to provide your services to the Economic • Development Authority by serving on the Marketing Committee. The purpose of this letter is to provide information about the function of this committee and to get the committee familiarized with its first major task. Background The Economic Development Authority has agreed to appoint you, along with the six other individuals listed above to serve on a marketing committee. The purpose of this marketing committee will be to work with a hired consultant to develop an industrial marketing and sales plan for the city of Elk River. The end product is to be a detailed, action-oriented marketing strategy which will be implemented by economic development staff in order to obtain the final goal of increasing the city's industrial base. The first task of this committee will be to interview two selected consultants. The selected consultant will work with the marketing committee over the next approximately six-month period to lead the committee through the process of development of a marketing plan. Regular monthly updates will be provided by committee members to the full Economic Development Authority with the final plan being presented in June or July, 2000. Proposals from the two selected consultants are attached to this letter for your review.
