However, based on the Focused <br />Area Study and the Comprehensive Plan, a rezoning to permit apartments is appropriate. I encourage you <br />to formally submit an application to rezone the property to R-4, which allows apartment buildings as a <br />permitted use. <br />Please note that abandoning a use established by a Conditional Use (the hotel) will cause the Conditional <br />Use Permit to expire after 6 months. Our records reflect that the property stopped being a hotel on May <br />1, 2014. Once expired, and with the property not rezoned, the use of the property will be considered <br />illegal, non -conforming. <br />I hope this information is helpful; please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
