Item # 5 <br /> • <br /> City of <br /> Elk -�.. <br /> River <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: Economic Development Authority <br /> FROM: Catherine Mehelich, Director of Economic Development <br /> DATE: January 13, 2003 <br /> SUBJECT: Annual Meeting Issues <br /> The following annual business issues should be considered by the EDA: <br /> a. Election of Officers—The EDA bylaws indicate the following offices are to be <br /> filled through the election process at the annual meeting of the Authority. <br /> The 2002 officers were as follows: <br /> • President—Jeff Gongoll <br /> • Vice President Pat Dwyer <br /> • Treasurer—Larry Koenig <br /> • Secretary—Dan Tviete <br /> • Assistant Treasurer—Louise Kuester <br /> b. Appoint Executive Director—The appointment of an executive director is <br /> required at the annual meeting of the Authority. Staff recommends that the <br /> EDA designate the Director of Economic Development, Catherine <br /> Mehelich, as the executive director of the EDA. <br /> c. Designate Official Newspaper—The EDA's current official newspaper is the Elk <br /> River Star News. Staff recommends the EDA's designation of the Elk River <br /> Star News as the official EDA newspaper for 2003. <br /> d. Designate Official Depositories—In the past the EDA has designated depositories <br /> identical to those designated by the City Council. For 2003, the EDA is <br /> asked to designate the following banks and institutions as depositories for its <br /> funds: <br /> • First National Bank of Elk River <br /> • 4M Fund <br /> • • Wells Fargo Bank <br /> • The Bank of Elk River <br /> • USBank <br />
