Parks and Recreation Department 2016 Goals <br /> 1. Complete a Multipurpose Community Center Feasibility Plan by May 9,2016. <br /> Note: Feasibility Plan shall explain the type,size,programs,costs and strategic partnerships required to construct a <br /> multi-generational,multipurpose community center to include senior activity center space,an ice arena,and <br /> meeting/activity space. <br /> a. Attend and support Steering Committee meetings to plan and provide direction. <br /> b. Create an outline of potential programs and amenities <br /> c. Engage the Community and potential stakeholders <br /> d. Analyze the amount of space needed <br /> e. Review three alternate sites and recommend preferred site <br /> f. Develop a capital investment funding strategy <br /> g. Estimate future operating costs and revenues for preferred site facility <br /> h. Create site plans and concept plans to present to City Council <br /> i. Review the Department organizational structure and delivery of services <br /> j. Take tours of area facilities in April <br /> 2. Complete the construction of the Rivers Edge Commons Park Expansion. <br /> Note: The park expansion will follow the concept plan approved by the Commission and City Council. <br /> a. HKGi will tabulate bids with staff by March 14 <br /> b. City Council will review bid on March 21, 2016 <br /> 3. Grand Opening of the William H. Houlton Conservation Area (WHHCA) by Fall 2016. <br /> a. Attend and support WHHCA Committee meetings to plan and develop the property. <br /> b. Hunting Plan approved by DNR and City Council by spring 2016. <br /> c. Complete the Restoration Management Plan in collaboration with FMR. <br /> d. Demolition of the buildings before July 2016. <br /> e. Site master plan including signage plan completed by spring 2016. <br /> 4. FM the vacancy of the Park Maintenance Lead position before the end of May 2016. <br /> Note: Steve Stoffers plans to resign effective July 1,2016.Tim will be gone the month of June. <br /> 5. Complete the Woodland Trails Master Plan by May 2016 to meet the requirements of the <br /> Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trail Commission. <br /> 6. Complete the 2016 park projects as outlined in the Park Improvement Fund Descriptions(see <br /> attached). Projects were reviewed by the Commission and City Council. <br /> 7. Complete the design specifications of the Orono Park Skate Park. <br /> 8. Fill the vacancy of the Ice Arena Lead Worker position. <br />
