Ed Dulek is offering the district more than 20 acres of usable land. He has also
agreed to provide the site preparetion (grading) for the district and has offered to
donate $250,000 to the district, which could be used to enhance other
construction projects in the district. The site is close to Twin Lakes Blvd. and
would not require school traffic to travel through residential subdivisions to get to
the school from primary roads. District personnel favor this site for our next
school. The major negative of this property is it is outside of the Urban Service
Area.

The best solution for the school district might be to receive both properties. We
would build the elementary school on one, most likely the Dulek property, and
hold the other to build a future school, possibly a middle school. This scenario
would require the district to buy extra land from the developer south of the
Thompson property which, if possible, we are prepared to do.

The school district is interested in pursuing any relationship that allows us to
build a school on a good site at reduced cost which will allow us to maximize the
school construction possibilities and exercise proper stewardship of the
taxpayers money. We await the direction of the City Council in these matters
and then we will finalize a plan after discussion with the School Board. When all
of the facts are in I am sure the Board will make an announcement as soon as
possible. It is still the District's plan to begin construction somewhere in the east
as soon as possible in the upcoming Spring.

Thanks for all of your support and help.

Sincerely,

~

Alan Jensen, Ed.D.
Superintendent

Cc: 18D7218chool Board; Dan Colllna, Principal; Dr. Ron Bratlle, Director; Jana Hennen-
Burr.
