Currently the project is <br />almost 50 percent through Phase I, which consists o f Inventory, Programming, Design Concept and Funding <br />Strategies. Phase I is on schedule to wrap up in early March. Phase II which will consist of Project <br />Reccomendations and Final Report will be completed in early May. <br /> <br />Tasks Completed:Tasks Completed:Tasks Completed:Tasks Completed: <br /> <br /> Existing Building Inventory & Analysis. <br /> JLG Architects and sub-consultants, with coordinat ion from the City of Elk River have completed Inventory <br />and Analysis of the city’s existing facilities. The facilities studied include: Elk River Ice Arena, the Activity Center, <br />Lion’s Park Center, and Trott Brook Barn. The study consisted of review and recording of existing drawings (as <br />available), on-site walk through analysis and photographic documentation, and verbal survey with build ing <br />operations and management. Analysis of existing conditions will be included in the study final documentation. <br /> <br />Identification and Information Gathering from Stakeholders and Users: <br /> The Study Team along with the Project Steering Committee identified a long list of primary and secondary <br />project stakeholders and users or potential users. The Stakeholder and User groups included: Parks and Rec staff, <br />community Senior leaders and Senior center staff, Lion’s club leaders and members, Youth Hockey Association, <br />Figure Skating Club, Arena Commission, Community Ed ucation leadership, Boys and Girls High School Hockey, <br />YMCA leadership, Baseball Association, Softball Association, Soccer Association, Lacrosse Association, High <br />School Cross Country, Chamber of Commerce, Area Arts Alliance, and Community Theatre. <br /> <br />OnOnOnOn----going Tasks:going Tasks:going Tasks:going Tasks: <br /> <br /> Development and Refining of Program and Space Needs: <br /> Through the process of analyzing existing facilities, meeting with current project stakeholders and potential <br />users, and working closely with the city’s Project Steering Committee, a program of required spatial needs is in the <br />process of being developed. Upon the completion of upcoming information gathering sessions with the community <br />and further discussion with the project team and steering committee, a final program of needs will be completed. <br /> <br />Market Analysis: <br /> Ballard*King, a specialist sub-consultant on the project team has recently begun the process of completing <br />a regional market analysis.
