The labor force in the County has been increasing since 1990. <br /> The largest increase in the labor force occurred between 1993 and 1994 with an increase of 1,818 <br /> persons. Between 1999 and 2000 another substantial increase was experienced with a labor <br /> force increase of 1,592 persons. Unemployment rates in the County reached their lowest level in <br /> 1998 with a 2.5%unemployment rate. The highest rate was found in 1991 at 6.0%. Since 1997 <br /> the unemployment rate has stayed below 4.0%. For the most part, the unemployment rate in the <br /> County has remained consistent with the statewide rate. With the exception of 1990, Sherburne <br /> County has had a lower rate than the national average. <br />
