Older neighborhoods
and a civic core containing City Hall and new Federal Courthouse are
central to the three districts.
Enhancements proposed for Main Street include expanded
streetscapes, renovations to a farmers market, creative links to the
river, and new public and private development opportunities that
1 • activate vacant parcels. In Haarig, the stock of historic buildings,
enhanced street spaces and new housing on vacant parcels will
encourage a renewed sense of life in the district. Along the nearly one
mile length of Broadway, the strategy for revitalization places initial
emphasis on two segments—a university-focused retail/entertainment 1
p 9 Y
precinct based on the renovation of two older theaters and an
office/employment precinct that utilizes larger existing buildings and
captures current:interest in their renovation.
_ _ -- - -
777 4 i ."
#
,y f
'1-,, /A alt l 1r c ,. y§t,t 3h,,11 !r' f y l -i
6
ft,. -L,I.a .,1' - -
 , ,, _-'
III 1
1
1
3QH
