I am currently involved <br />with the Elk River Fire Department and community programs they sponsor. I was <br />reappointed to a second 4-year term by Governor Pawlenty to the Peace Officers <br />Standards & Training Board, I serve as a board member and as Chairman of the <br />Complaint committee. <br /> <br />Prior to living in Elk River I lived in Monticello, and previous to that lived in <br />Brooklyn Park. I was appointed to two terms on the Brooklyn Park Charter <br />Commission and served as Secretary, Vice President, and President of the firefighter <br />relief association. <br /> <br />Having grown up in Buffalo, the son of small business owners, I know the <br />importance of why people gravitate to cities like Elk River, and I understand the <br />importance of balancing planned community growth with maintaining the <br />atmosphere that promotes neighborliness. <br />
