The idea was brought up by Anne that the Rivers Edge Downtown Business Association, obtain a booth through the Chamber for the upcoming Business Expo on April 22nd. . We could all adve•tise our businesses, using our Downtown Association theme. The expo offe rs great exposure with a lot of people coming through on this day. We all agr;ed to move forward to assist Anne with this promo. Marlys and Anne have also been working on a monthly ad for our downtown businesses. 'We would be able to get a quarter page ad with all of the Rivers Edge Businesses having a space to pro:note their business monthly at a relatively inexpensive cost. Each month, two businesses would be featured in the ad, which will offer additional E xposur.e. We made motion to move forward with the ad starting in. March. Anne, Marlys and Paul, will work on a draft for next months paper. Steve Rolf, spoke about the ability to obtain money from the Landfill abatement fund, to assist us with our River walk p inject. In order to secure these funds, we would need to focus on the recycli:d products, and educate the public about the need to recycle. The river wal< boards that we are looking to use, are all recycled products. Anne thought about having an informational booth at the Art Soup Festival., where people could obtain information about recycling and see what we are h Joking to do in the downtown area. We will discuss this at our next m feting in March. Art Soup's committee, will be contacted all of the .ocal downtown businesses, looking for space to display art work for their silent auction. A list of all Rivers Edge members will be given to thy: committee, to assist them with getting the support and space they will r eed. Please help, if you can, as there will a great need for space this year. We expect to begin hearing from the Art Soup people sometime in Apr il. Please give them your attention when they call.
