The ordinance <br />establishes the following: <br /> <br /> <br />Definitions for terms used throughout the ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br />Requires licensing for massage establishments and massage therapists with certain exceptions. <br /> <br /> <br />Outlines the information required on an application for massage establishments and massage <br />therapists. <br /> <br /> <br />Establishes a process for the city to verify the facts of an application. <br /> <br /> <br />Outlines factors that would disqualify an applicant from obtaining a license. <br /> <br /> <br />Allows for in-house approval of a license by the Office of the City Clerk. <br /> <br /> <br />Establishes licensing restrictions regarding health, safety, and welfare. <br /> <br /> <br />Sets up a licensing renewal process. <br /> <br /> <br />Establishes sanctions and penalties for licensing violations. <br /> <br />The proposed ordinance was sent to current massage establishments licensed in the city and the Chamber <br />sent out notice to their members. No comments have been received. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br /> <br />Approving the resolution for summary publication of the ordinance will save on publication costs for the <br />legal notice in the paper.
