The park is proudly displayed at the entrance to the City’s state-of-the-art community center, adjacent to the site of the former wooden
skatepark built in 1999. Lumber from that park was recycled by a Minneapolis-based indoor skateboarding facility – a truly green approach.
Frost-susceptible soils and dramatic topography tested even our seasoned design/build team, but we engineered responsible solutions for drainage and
concrete strength to ensure the park’s longevity through decades of harsh Minnesota winters. An L-shaped site, hugged by a volleyball court and multiple
parking lots also presented a challenge, but we prevailed with a well-flowing, architectural space.
