While in route, the officer was updated that the juvenile male was not breathing and the coach <br /> and others had started CPR. <br /> Richard Peterson,head cross county track coach and director of athletics at Spectrum High School, and <br /> Amy Cornelius the assistant coach both started CPR/rescue breathing until Officer Heldt and other first <br /> responders arrived on scene. Officer Heldt and the additional first responders were able to continue CPR <br /> and use the rescue pod to establish a pulse. The male eventually started breathing on his own before <br /> being transported to Mercy Hospital. <br /> Due to the quick response and initial CPR/rescue breathing efforts from those on scene the male juvenile <br /> survived. Therefore, Officer Kevin Heldt,Rick Peterson,Amy Cornelius, Loni Nye, Kurt Weber,Jessica <br /> Rodriguez, Rich Niemela, and Scott Schmidt are hereby awarded with the Lifesaving award. <br /> Financial Impact <br /> None <br /> Attachments <br /> ■ None <br /> POWERED 6T <br /> Template Updoted 4/14 INAMIRE1 <br />
