John Cunningham, Fire Chief <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Fire Contract with City of Otsego Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br /> <br />Approve, by motion, a contract for firefighting services with the City of Otsego. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />The Elk River Fire Department currently provides fire protection and emergency response services on a <br />contractual basis to the City of Otsego. The current contract is set to expire on December 31, 2015. <br /> <br />The existing contract was reviewed and staff recommended only minor changes which included a <br />clarification on making adjustments to the service area. Adjustments were allowed for in the current <br />contract. The change outlines dates in which any adjustments must be made and the process for doing <br />so. <br /> <br />The proposed new contract is for five years (2016-2020). The formula used to calculate the annual cost <br />of the contract is to remain the same, which includes a maximum 3% increase over the preceding year. <br /> <br />Otsego approved the contract on November 9, 2015. <br /> <br />Both cities look forward to continuing the long-standing relationship. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br /> <br />The proposed Contract will generate revenue of approximately $212,686.72 for 2016. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Contract for Firefighting Services (2016-2020) <br /> <br /> <br />
