EOty1� ,.,�� Request for Action <br /> River <br /> To Item Number <br /> Mayor and City Council 4.6 A <br /> Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br /> Consent November 2, 2015 Ron Nierenhausen, Chief of Police <br /> Item Description Reviewed by <br /> Hire Police Department Secretary/Receptionist Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> Reviewed by <br /> Lauren Wipper, Human Resource Representative <br /> Action Requested <br /> Approve,by motion, the hiring of Angie Fisher to the position of secretary/receptionist for the city's <br /> Police Department effective November 9, 2015. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> Due to the year-end retirement of Michelle Masica,who is the active Elk River Police Department <br /> Support Services Supervisor, a hiring process was implemented to find and train position replacements <br /> within the Support Services Division. <br /> As the hiring process started,both of the current Police Department secretary/receptionists (Linda <br /> Canton and Kris Sandhoefner) applied,interviewed, and were selected to the fill the vacant Crime <br /> Prevention Specialist and Records Clerk positions. As they transition into their new positions,it will <br /> leave the two front desk secretary/receptionist positions vacant. <br /> We went to market to fill these two positions,received 76 applications, and interviewed 12 candidates. <br /> Angie Fisher was selected to fill one of the vacancies and has completed her background and reference <br /> checks. Based on the successful results we are requesting approval to hire Angie Fisher for one of the <br /> secretary/receptionist positions. <br /> Ms. Fischer will start at step A of pay grade 3.
