Elk River Housing and Redevelopment Authority Meeting Page 2 <br /> February 23, 1998 <br /> Monticello and Monticello Community Partners have volunteered to make a <br /> presentation of their plan to a joint meeting of the HRA and Planning Commission. <br /> Paul suggested the River's Edge Downtown Development Committee be invited <br /> to attend, as well. Tuesday, March 10th at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, March 24th at <br /> 5:30 p.m.were discussed as possible meeting dates. Due to various schedule <br /> conflicts, Paul will check on March 17th and March 31st as alternative dates and <br /> he will notify the HRA Commissioners when a final date has been determined. <br /> King and Main Site-Marketing <br /> Paul Steinman distributed a draft brochure for marketing the King and Main Street <br /> HRA site. <br /> Gary Santwire distributed a draft of his recommendations for marketing the site <br /> (attached to official minutes). He noted the Nohra's own 6 businesses in Elk River <br /> and may be interested in a project at this location. Mr. Santwire explained he <br /> feels the price of the land should be determined by the net rents a project will <br /> generate. <br /> Discussion followed regarding the listing price of the property and brokerage fee. <br /> The Commissioners expressed their desire to develop the site with a high quality <br /> project. It was the consensus of the Commission to include a listing price of <br /> $150,000 for the King and Main HRA property, and to offer a $10,000 brokerage <br /> fee for a acceptable project. <br /> • 7.1. Letter to Minnesota Housing Finance Agency Regarding Minnesota City <br /> Participation Program <br /> Paul Steinman reviewed the letter to the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency. <br /> The Commissioners expressed their concurrence with Paul's comments in the <br /> letter. <br /> 7.2. Purchase of Trees for Highway 10 Parking Lot <br /> COMMISSIONER HINKLE MOVED APPROVAL OF THE PURCHASE OF UP TO 6 TREES <br /> FOR THE HIGHWAY 10 PARKING LOT. COMMISSIONER FARBER SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> Commissioner Hinkle requested hopa crab trees be used, if possible. <br /> 7.3. HRA Commissioner Position <br /> Commissioner Farber indicated he plans to continue serving as an HRA <br /> Commissioner. <br /> Commissioner Farber indicated the house at the corner of 5th Street and Jackson <br /> is once again, for sale and questioned if the HRA might be interested in <br /> purchasing the site. It was the consensus of the Commissioners to wait until a <br /> project comes in for the King and Main site before consideration of another <br /> redevelopment site. <br /> S <br />
