Housing and Redevelopment Authority Page 2 <br /> October 27. 1997 <br /> • that he felt the price of the lot is affecting the city's ability to get tenants. He <br /> further indicated that he did not feel it was realistic to ask the same dollars per <br /> square foot for land downtown as for land located on Highway 169. <br /> Vice Mayor Kropuenske indicated his concern that the site be opened up to <br /> other developers who are interested in developing the area. After further <br /> discussion it was the consensus of the HRA to allow Executive Director Paul <br /> Steinman the flexibility to negotiate the cost of the land with potential tenants. <br /> 5.2. Update on Other Activities Downtown <br /> Executive Director Paul Steinman updated the HRA on downtown activities <br /> including the Olde Main Eatery, the former Snyder building, and the Star News <br /> building. <br /> 5.3. Update on River's Edge Activities by Shelle Perleberg <br /> Shelle Perleberg, president of River's Edge Downtown Development Corporation, <br /> updated the HRA on upcoming activities of the Corporation. She indicated that <br /> some of the main issues of the Corporation include sidewalk replacement, <br /> painting of another mural in the downtown area, extensive Christmas lighting, <br /> and revitalization of the downtown area. She indicated that the Corporation's <br /> Mission Statement is "to try to preserve the historic value of the downtown area." <br /> Discussion was held by the HRA indicating its interest in continuing to work with <br /> the Downtown Development Corporation and the fact that the downtown is a <br /> • part of the city's master plan and will continue to be discussed by the HRA, <br /> Planning Commission, and city staff. <br /> 6. Other Business <br /> There was no other business. <br /> 7. Adjournment <br /> There being no further business, COMMISSIONER WILSON MOVED TO ADJOURN THE <br /> MEETING. COMMISSIONER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION.
