Housing and Redevelopment Authority Minutes Page 2 <br /> August 25, 1997 <br /> • COMMISSIONER WILSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE 1998 BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF <br /> $77,000 AND REQUEST THAT THE CITY OF ELK RIVER LEVY A TAX IN THE AMOUNT OF <br /> .0131 PERCENT OF THE TOTAL TAXABLE MARKET VALUE OF THE CITY,TO BE USED FOR <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND REDEVELOPMENT PURPOSES BY THE HOUSING AND <br /> REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY. COMMISSIONER HINKLE SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 5.2. Joint HRA/Planning Commission Meeting-8/12/97 <br /> Executive Director Paul Steinman indicated that this item was to bring the <br /> Authority up to date on the joint HRA/Planning Commission meeting held on <br /> August 12, 1997. It was decided that there would be another joint meeting held <br /> to discuss the downtown area and hopefully to review some design plans. A <br /> tentative date was set for September 9, at 6:30 p.m. Paul indicated he would <br /> inform the Authority when a firm date was set. <br /> 6. Other Business <br /> King/Main Property-Chair Schuldt questioned if there was anything new on the <br /> King and Main property. Executive Director Paul Steinman stated he had talked <br /> to Dennis Chuba and that he indicated he was still interested in the property at <br /> this time, but had so far been unsuccessful in finding a tenant. Paul indicated <br /> another option would be to look at the cost of listing the project with a <br /> commercial broker to see if there was any tenant interest in the project. <br /> Discussion was held on possible ways to market the property. Mr.Steinman <br /> indicated he would research the possibilities of marketing the property locally <br /> • and bring this issue back to the Authority at a future meeting. <br /> Discussion was held regarding whether the day and/or time of the HRA meeting <br /> should be changed. It was the consensus to discuss this item when all members <br /> were present. <br /> 7. Adjournment <br /> There being no further business, COMMISSIONER WILSON MOVED TO ADJOURN THE <br /> MEETING. COMMISSIONER HINKLE SECONDED THE MOTION.
