E-cigarettes: an evidence update <br /> <br />21 <br /> details (including quantification) on all the ingredients contained in, and <br />emissions resulting from the use of, the product, by brand name <br /> toxicological data regarding ingredients and emissions, including when heated, <br />with reference particularly to health of consumers when inhaled including any <br />addictive effect <br /> information on nicotine doses and uptake when consumed under normal or <br />reasonably foreseeable conditions <br /> description of the product components, including where appropriate opening <br />and refill mechanisms of product or refill containers <br /> description of the production process and declaration that it conforms with the <br />TPD <br /> declaration that manufacturer/importer bear full responsibility for the quality and <br />safety of the product when placed on market and used under normal or <br />reasonably foreseeable conditions <br /> nicotine-containing liquid restrictions: <br /> EC must not contain more than 20 mg/ml of nicotine <br /> nicotine-containing liquid must be in dedicated refill containers not exceeding <br />10ml volume, and cartridges or tanks do not exceed a volume of 2ml <br /> additives are not prohibited but the nicotine-containing liquids cannot contain <br />additives that are otherwise prohibited by the other Articles in the TPD <br /> high purity ingredients must be used and substances other than those declared <br />should only be present in trace quantities which are unavoidable du ring <br />manufacture <br /> ingredients must not pose a risk to health either when heated or not heated <br /> nicotine doses must be delivered at consistent levels under normal conditions of <br />use <br /> products are required to be child and tamper proof, protected against breakage and <br />leakage and have a mechanism that ensures refilling without leakage <br /> products must include a leaflet with information on: <br /> instructions for use and storage of the product, including a reference that the <br />product is not recommended for use by young people and non-smokers <br /> contra-indications <br /> warnings for specific groups <br /> possible adverse effects <br /> addictiveness and toxicity <br /> contact details of manufacturer/importer and a legal or natural contact person <br />within the EU <br /> outside packaging of products must include: <br /> list of all ingredients contained in the product in descending order of the weight <br /> an indication of the nicotine content and delivery per dose <br /> batch number <br /> recommendation to keep the product out of reach of children
