Comprehensive Plan Update <br /> Commissioner Lieser updated the HRA on the last Comprehensive Plan Task Force meeting. <br /> She noted that the meeting was well attended. Items of discussion pertained to community <br /> strengths and weaknesses. She indicated that those present at her table discussed issues <br /> pertaining to affordable housing,lack of apartments and the lack of neighborhood business <br /> districts. Commissioner Motin indicated that there were many areas of discussion and further <br /> indicated that developers and large landowners were well represented at the meeting.Vice <br /> Chair Wilson indicated that he heard that there was a lack of community commercial zoning' <br /> and that some would like to see this type of zoning located in more areas of the city. <br /> 6. Downtown Revitalization Project Update <br /> Director of Economic Development Catherine Mehelich gave an update of the activities <br /> pertaining to the downtown revitalization project. She reviewed the communication activities <br /> that have taken place. Ms. Mehelich spoke about the design concept process. She noted that <br /> there is a gap in the financing between what the developer can afford and the tax increment <br /> revenues. Ms. Mehelich indicated that staff would be working with the developer on ways to <br /> reduce the gap. She noted that it might be possible to receive grants to assist in reducing the <br /> gap. Ms. Mehelich also indicted that the TIF assessment is nearly complete and that the results <br /> will be presented to the HRA in May. She informed the HRA that an open house is being <br /> planned for sometime in April. <br /> 7.1. Sherburne County Chapter Habitat for Humanity Update <br /> • Commissioner Lieser updated the I-RA on the progress of the Sherburne County Habitat for <br /> Humanity house that is currently being constructed. <br /> 7.2. Work Session with MN Housing Finance Agency <br /> Economic Development Assistant Heidi Hall informed the HRA that April 28,2003 has <br /> tentatively been scheduled for the MHFA presentation and HRA work session. It was the <br /> consensus of the HRA to invite the City Council to this meeting. <br /> 8. Other Business <br /> There was no other business. <br /> 9. Adjournment <br /> There being no other business, COMMISSIONER MOTIN MOVED TO ADJOURN <br /> THE MEETING. COMMISSIONER LIESER SECONDED THE MOTION.
