Item 3.3. <br /> <br />FROCLAMATIOr'I <br /> <br />Whereas, <br /> <br />Manufacturing has the largest total payroll of any business sector in <br />Minnesota, providing $18 billion in 1998 wages; and, <br /> <br />Whereas, <br /> <br />Manufacturing produces $28.3 billion for the state economy and is <br />the second largest single share (18.9%) of our gross product; and, <br /> <br />Whereas, <br /> <br />Manufacturing exports brought nearly $9.2 billion into the <br />Minnesota economy in 1999; and, <br /> <br />Whereas, <br /> <br />Manufacturing provides high skill, high wage jobs which significantly <br />contribute to Minnesota's high standard of living and economic <br />vitality; and, <br /> <br />Whereas, <br /> <br />Manufacturing contributed nearly $232 million in corporate income <br />taxes in Minnesota, more than any other business sector, about <br />30% of total corporate income taxes in 1999. <br /> <br />Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that I, Stephanie Klinzing, Mayor of the City of <br />Elk River, do hereby proclaim the week of October 16 through 22, 2000, as <br /> <br />MINNESOTA MANUFACTURER'S WEEK <br /> <br />in the City of Elk River. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 25th day <br />of September, 2000. <br /> <br />Stephanie A.
