Discussion <br />centered on the reasons for the PCA, and the volatility of the energy market. <br /> <br /> James Tralle moved to institute positive retail PCA for thc next three months. <br />George Zabee seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />6.2 Consider Pureha.~ing New Electric Line Truck <br /> <br /> The 2000 Budget includes a $120,000.00 item to replace an electric digger derrick <br />line truck. The vehicle being replaced is in fairly good shape, but it will be eleven years <br />old when it is replaced. The option of purchasing a new truck and keeping the proposed <br />wade-in mack as a standby was discussed. <br /> <br /> Staff is directed to seek bids for a new electric digger derrick/linc truck, with <br />options of a trade, as well as no trade. <br /> <br /> Bryan Adams advised the Commission of Public meetings to be held by the <br />Minnesota Depa~haent of Commerce regarding their plan for the furare reliability of <br />electric services in Minnesota. Bryan urged Commission members to attend. A general. <br />discussion of de-regulation followed, with opinions by Commission and Staff. <br /> <br /> Pat Klaers, City Administrator has requested a joint meeting between the Elk <br />River City Council and the Elk River Utilities Commission to be held September 25, <br />2000, at 6:00 P.M. at the City Hall Council Chambers. Suggestions for topics to be <br />discussed are the Main Street Project, a Water Tower site, and Municipal Building. <br />General discussion of the Main Street Project followed, with consensus to agree to the <br />joint meeting on that date. <br /> <br /> John Dietz advised the Commission that the City Council has approved the <br />purchase of a fire truck, to be paid for from Utility Transfers to the City. <br /> <br />A Special Meeting of the Elk River Utilities Commission with the Elk River City Council <br />will be held at 6:00 P.M. on September 25, 2000 in the City Hall Council Chambers. <br /> <br />The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission <br />will be held at 4:00 P.M. October 3, 2000 in the Utilities Office. <br /> <br /> <br />
