THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 6.7, Request by City of Elk River for Ordinance Amendment to Revise DesJ.qn Standards in the Business Park Zonin.q District, Public Hearin.q, Case No. aA 00-7 Scott Harlicker indicated that the City of Elk River is requesting to amend the design standards for the Business Park zoning district and to eliminate multi-tenant buildings as a conditional use. Scott Harlicker reviewed the staff report on this issue. The design standards issues included: 1.) load spaces/overhead doors and 2.) architectural design/building materials. Mayor Klinzing opened the public hearing. There being no one for or against the maurer, Mayor Klinzing closed the public hearing. Planning Commission Representative Louise Kuester indicated that the Planning Commission and staff spent many hours researching and discussing the proposed amendments. She indicated that it was the Planning Commission's intent to encourage creativity and design in commercial and industrial buildings. Mayor Klinzing noted that she was aware of the many hours spent by the Planning Commission on this issue and thanked the commission for their recommendation. COUNCILMEMBER MATIN MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 00-16 AMENDING SECTION 900.12(16) PERTAINING TO BUSINESS PARK DISTRICT, CASE NO. aA 00-7. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 7. Staff Updates The city administrator indicated that the fire chief would have an update on the Fire Station remodeling at the next council meeting. 8. Other Business The city clerk informed the council of the Homecoming parade on October 6. 9.
