In fact, last year the police department presented a
plan to the City Council to install speed bumps along Auburn Street in an attempt to slow the
speed of traffic down. However, there were concerns for the residents along Auburn Street
regarding the impact speed bumps would have on their properties. Therefore, this idea was
dropped. City staff has met with a group of residents from Auburn Street to discuss other-
options to reduce the speed and volume of traffic along this stretch of roadway. City Council
has directed staff to conduct an informational meeting with the residents of Hillside Estates 4th,
5th, 6th and 7th Addition to get public feedback on the potential cul-de-sacing of Auburn Street
and eliminating this street as a through route in the Hillside Estates development. Therefore,
City staff will conduct the following informational meeting.

Hillside Estates Informational Meeting
Regarding Auburn Street
Thursday, March 25, 1999
6:00 p.m. City Hall
City Council Chambers

If you are unable to attend this meeting or would prefer to submit any comments you may have
in writing, they can be submitted to me at City Hall or I can be contacted at 441-2950.

Sincerely,

HOWARD R.
