E R tV
C ble C hannel 12

DATE: 6/21/0 0
TO: Sandy Peine
RE: Portable PA

I have researched three different businesses for portable public address systems that would fulfill the
city's needs. I contacted EPA Audio/Visual, Alpha Video, and Metro Sound. The system quoted by
both EPA and Alpha Video is the same system that was rented for the pedestrian bridge opening with
wireless capabilities. Below are the comparison quotes.

Anchor Audio System WRI
Anchor Handheld Wireless Mike
Anchor Belt Pack Transmitter
Anchor Wireless Lavaliere Mike
Heavy Duty Speaker Stand
Total

EPA Alpha
$939 $1006
$260 $239
$184 $169
$124 $109
$132 $115
$1639 $1638

Metro Sound had a different system that had a 15-channel selectable lavaliere mike for $1530. This system has only one
mike compared to the two different mikes listed in the quotes above.

RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend that we purchase the complete Anchor system as listed above from Alpha Video. This
system would allow adaptability to differing situations because of multiple wireless mikes (Both
wireless mikes cannot be used at the same time). The downfall of this system is that it does not allow
the changing of channels to combat possible interference. However, if interference was present a
wired mike may be used instead of the standard wireless. I was comfortable with the Anchor portable
system that has been rented before and feel that this system as a whole will address the city's present
and future needs.
