Housing and Redevelopment Authority Minutes Page 2 <br /> March 26,2001 <br /> • Catherine noted that if bids come back positive, there could be the possibility of considering <br /> aesthetic additions to the project such as replacing some of the trees that have become <br /> overgrown, the replacement of trash receptacles, and possibly adding flowerpots. Catherine <br /> indicated that staff is putting together a coordinated plan with these additions. <br /> Discussion was held regarding whose responsibility it would be to maintain the trees and the <br /> flowerpots. Catherine noted that the Master Gardner's Club is interested in helping to <br /> maintain the flowerpots. Discussion was also held regarding whose responsibility it is to pay <br /> for these additions. No decision was made at this time. Catherine Mehelich indicated she <br /> would have more information to present regarding these issues at the next HRA meeting. <br /> 6. Downtown Redevelopment Plan Update <br /> Catherine Mehelich updated the HRA members on the progress of the downtown <br /> redevelopment plan. She indicated that staff has completed the inventory and will be <br /> analyzing the inventory data to identify specific areas that the HRA may want to consider for <br /> redevelopment activity. <br /> It was noted that the Star News building was for sale. It was the consensus of the HRA to <br /> consider the site as a possible redevelopment project and they directed staff to research <br /> details of the sale. <br /> 7. Economic Development Strategic Plan Update <br /> Catherine Mehelich acknowledged the accomplishments that have been made in the <br /> Strategic Plan in the year 2000. She indicated that a primary goal of the plan included <br /> completing the central business district redevelopment plan. <br /> 8. Other Business <br /> Catherine Mehelich noted that Sherburne County recently approved 1.3 million dollars in <br /> Minnesota Housing Finance Agency Mortgage Revenue Bonds for an affordable housing <br /> program administered by local lenders. <br /> 9. Adjournment <br /> There being no other business, COMMISSIONER MOTIN MOVED TO ADJOURN <br /> THE MEETING.
