Elk River . <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Tom Sagstetter- Conservation and Key Accounts <br /> John Dietz—Chair Manager <br /> Al Nadeau—Vice Chair <br /> Daryl Thompson—Trustee <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> August 11th,2015 4,a <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Vision Committee— 100th Anniversary Planning Update <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The 100 year celebration event scheduled for August 27th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. is in the <br /> final stages of preparation. <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • A page has been added to the ERMU website that is dedicated to the 100th anniversary <br /> celebration. The page will be updated as more activities are firmed up and additional <br /> information becomes available. Here is a link to the page: <br /> http://www.elkriverutilities.com/pages/year. <br /> • ERMU staff is requesting to close the office one hour early on August 27th. The office <br /> would close at 3:30 p.m. Staff believes that there will be a good number of customers <br /> that will be there promptly at 4:00 p.m. By closing at 3:30 the office staff will be able to <br /> change clothes, drive to the event, and finish the set-up at the entrance to the fairgrounds <br /> and the buffet line. If approved, the early closure would be posted on the entrance to <br /> ERMU and on the website. The information would also be communicated to customers <br /> through the standard ERMU phone greeting. <br /> • Attached is ERMU's completed history report. The current plan is to provide a <br /> complimentary copy of the book to each employee and Commissioner. Staff is looking <br /> for discussion on the possibility of providing past Commissioners, and employees that <br /> left in good standing,with complementary copies as well. If approved, ERMU will offer <br /> a copy to those individuals that are easy to locate and don't cause a burden to staff to do <br /> so. <br /> • The City of Elk River Parks and Recreation Department has given approval to ERMU <br /> staff to address the attendees of the last two concerts in the park events to inform them of <br /> the 100 year celebration. <br /> • A poster advertising the event is being posted in buildings throughout the city.
