A regional designation shows that the park meets a very high
standard for natural resource-based outdoor recreation and is part of a regional system engrossing greater
Minnesota and would be eligible for Regional Parks and Trails Legacy funding.
Incorporating and renaming Big Tooth Ridge Park was discussed and unanimously recommended by the
Parks and Recreation Commission at the July 8, 2015, meeting. The regional park designation application
was submitted by staff.
A public notice requesting a public meeting for renaming was posted and published in the local paper at
least 10-days prior to the Commission meeting. A copy of the public notice published on June 27, 2015,
is attached.
Staff has reviewed the renaming requirements for Big Tooth Ridge Park and finds that it meets the
criteria for renaming as outlined in the Parks and Faculties Naming Policy.
Financial Impact
Staff proposes that any new signage follow the city's wayfinding program.
Attachments
■ Parks & Facilities Naming Policy
■ Public Notice
POWERED 6T
A IR
