ERX is a yearround <br />complex hosting snowmobile events in the winter and car, truck, ATV and gocart racing in the summer <br />months. <br /> <br />In order to complete their proposed and future projects, they need several land use applications <br />approved. These include: <br />Ordinance Amendments <br /> <br /> <br />Create XCR district <br />Land Use Amendment <br /> <br /> <br />Development Reserve/Mining/Residential to Highway Business/Mining <br />Zone Change <br /> <br /> <br />CRT to XCR <br />Preliminary Plat <br /> <br /> <br />Aggregate Commercial Third Addition <br />Conditional Use Permit <br /> <br /> <br />Limited Stay Lodging <br /> <br />More detailed information on these applications is in the July 14, 2015, Planning Commission staff <br />reports. <br /> <br />Utilities <br /> <br />The subject property is not located in the Urban Service District. Although the current Conditional Use <br />Permit (CU 15-10) project does not require city services, some of the proposed permitted and conditional <br />uses in the XCR district will require city services and this will have to be addressed in the future. <br /> <br /> <br />Planning Commission <br />The Planning Commission reviewed these applications at their June 23, 2015, meeting. No one spoke at <br />the public hearing and no concerns were raised by the commission regarding the requests. The public <br />hearing was opened and continued to the July 14, 2015, meeting. <br /> <br />The commission again reviewed these applications at a special meeting on July 14, 2015. No one spoke <br />at the public hearing and no concerns were raised by the commission regarding the requests. <br /> <br />The commission agreed the proposal would be a great asset/draw for Elk River and would like to see it <br />happen.
