City Council Minutes <br />May 17, 2004 <br />............................. <br /> <br /> The Council concurred that they disliked the coving plan. <br /> <br />Page 21 <br /> <br />Councilmember Tveite stated that the coving concept is confusing and creates maintenance <br />issues. <br /> <br />Ms. McPherson stated that there are street connections to the Sunset Ridge development and <br />there will be unhappy residents. <br /> <br />Councilmember Motin stated that he does not approve of the townhomes scattered throughout <br />the two proposed plats. He stated that when the townhome district was established it was <br />designed to act as a buffer between residential areas and industrial areas. He stated that the <br />townhomes should not be in this northeastern quadrant of the city. <br /> <br />Mayor I4dinzing stated concerns regarding the density of the project. <br /> <br />7. Council Discussion on Annual Reports <br /> <br />The Council continued this item until June 7, 2004. <br /> <br />Koehler Purchase offer <br /> <br />Mr. I4daers stated that late this aftemoon he received a letter from Mary Koehler with a counter <br />offer for the sale of her home, which will be used for a future expansion of the library. He stated <br />that the offer is for ~7,000 higher than the appraisal estimate. He stated that he believed the offer <br />to be reasonable. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz questioned if the counter offer was negotiable. He didn't believe the city <br />should have to pay relocation expenses for the Koehlers. He stated that the city should pay fair <br />value for the property. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER TYEITE AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN TO ADD CONSIDER THE KOEHLER PROPERTY <br />PURCHASE TO THE SPECIAL MAY 24, 2004 CITY COUNCIL MEETING. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />9.
