I also need to get
City Council ideas on topics that you would like to see on furore worksession agendas.

Regarding the June 14 worksession, the plan calls for a fairly detailed discussion on the city
organizational structure. This is a follow up to the discussion that took place on April 12,
2004. Additionally, associated with this topic is a follow up and review of the results of the
three worksessions that the City Council and staff had with Mr. Brimeyer on governance
issues. These two topics are inter-related and it makes sense that they are jointly discussed.
These two discussion items alone could take up the entire worksession evening... However,
based on the length of the agenda for June 7, 2004, it is anticipated that it may be later in the
evening when the City Council gets to the discussion on the draft wastewater treatment plant
master plan and accordingly, I anticipate that this issue may be continued to the June 14,
2004 worksession.

I have two other items "penciled in" for the June 14 agenda. The f~rst item should be about
a 10 minute discussion item regarding the downtown parking lot and utilities bmldmg.
Before we go too far I need to verify and make sure that the City Council is in agreement
with the overall concept of redoing the parking lot and closing ICing Avenue and with the
demolition of the Utilities building. The second item is more like a half hour discussion item
on the Library. The Mayor mentioned wanting to further discuss Library activities and
funding at the annual report presentation. This seems like a timely topic since the purchase
of the Koehler house is nearing completion. In general we ~vould like to discuss the timing
for the next expansion project and what the "game plan" is for the follow-up expansion that
can be forecasted for somewhere around 2015-2020.

S:~Council~Pat\2004~worksessionagenda.doc
