III. <br /> <br /> A-441 <br /> <br />EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT <br /> <br />(Goal #1 - Increase educational achievement with high expectations for all <br />students and staff. <br /> <br />IV. <br /> <br />CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT <br />(Goal #3 - Demonstrate district accountability through the continuous <br />improvement process.) <br /> <br />A. Board Member Representation <br /> <br />School Board members are asked to discuss the issue of election district <br />seats on the School Board. <br /> <br />B. Insurance Quotes <br /> <br />The administration recommends accepting the quotes from Continental <br />Western Insurance Company for property and casualty insurance and <br />State Fund Mutual for workers compensation insurance. The desirability <br />of adding sexual misconduct insurance coverage will be discussed. Jim <br />Klym of Martin Financial will be available to discuss the quotes. <br /> <br />C. Bid Acceptance <br /> <br />Recommend the School Board accept the following bids: <br /> <br /> Accepted Budgeted <br />Supplier School Bid Amount Amount <br /> <br />Schwab-Vollhaber-Lubratt RMS <br />(mechanical equipment) <br /> <br />$124,000 $140,000 <br /> <br />Ben's Tool & Iron Works <br />(structural Steel) <br /> <br />ZMS/ZHS $ 29,700 $ 47,775 <br /> <br />Dr. Bratlie will present additional bids that will be opened on June 7 and 8 <br />at the Board meeting. <br /> <br />D. Silent Auction <br /> <br />Recommend the School Board authorize the administration to <br />conduct a silent auction of surplus equipment on Saturday, June 26, <br />2004. <br /> <br />Brent Orr will be present to discuss this request. <br /> <br /> <br />
