13065 Orono Parkway <br />Elk River, MN 55330 <br /> <br />June 2,2004 <br /> <br />William Maertz <br />2432 Churchill Street <br />Roseville, Minnesota 55113 <br /> <br />Dear Bill: <br /> <br />It was a pleasure meeting with you on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 to discuss the Elk River parks <br />and recreation director position. <br /> <br />On June 7, 2004, I will recommend to the City Council that we hire you as the Elk River <br />parks and recreation director starting on July 26, 2004 ~vith the following terms: <br /> <br />· Sa/ay: $66,263.30 (Step D of Pay Grade 7E). Cost of living increase, consistent with <br /> all other exempt employees, shall be provided effective January 1, 2005. Subject to <br /> satisfactory job performance, you will move to the top of your pay grade effective <br /> July 1, 2005. <br />· [/'ac'at/on: You will begin employment earning vacation at the rate of 15 days per year. <br /> After one year you will move up to the next level (rate of 16 days per year) and move <br /> for~vard thereafter according to the adopted vacation schedule. <br /> <br />At our meeting on June 1, 2004, we briefly reviewed the employee benefits and the health <br />insurance options. Additional questions that you may have on these issues should be <br />directed to the Finance Department. Regarding training and continuing education, the city <br />has an approved employee development/tuition reimbursement program that will be <br />available to you.
