QUALIFICATION STATEMENT
The RFP requests a statement explaining why our firm should be selected for the work. The
HKGi team is best qualified to successfully complete the expansion project at River's Edge
due to several facts:
Our extensive experience in Elk River, specifically the Construction Documents and
Contract Administration for the original Rivers Edge Park, means that we know
exactly what materials, details, and construction techniques were used in the original
park. Knowing this means that our time can focus on the expansion solely without
spending time to review historical bid sets and deciphering how the previous park was
constructed.
The core staff at HKGi that worked on the project in 2006 and 2007 are the same staff
identified to work on the expansion project(Paul and Amy).
The project manager on the HKGi team has a strong working relationship with City staff,
the Park and Recreation Commission, and the City Council. And being a 15 year resident
_ a
of Elk River and Big Lake Township,he uses the Park and the Mississippi River frequently
and is very familiar with the role that the park plays in downtown Elk River.
The Civil Engineer for the project has a great deal of experience working on other similar ti
river-oriented site improvement projects, and thoroughly understands the complexities * k
involved with the storm water management and the required erosion control for
projects adjacent to the Mississippi River.
t
RIVERS EDGE COMMONS EXPANSION PROPOSAL 31
